Recently, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) issued a study that determined lane-departure warning systems have a positive, measurable, effect on U.S. roadway safety. IIHS examined accident data from 2015, which showed that the technology has helped reduce the frequency of injury-causing accidents by 21 percent.
