Jeep brand purists: they're in the majority. That's because the Jeep brand carries with it so much rich, iconic history and outdoorsy, rugged appeal, that anything shy of a sturdy, capable SUV with tremendous 4 x 4 capability will just not do for many Jeep drivers.
Well, luckily for these folks that Red Bluff Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM is referring to, Jeep brand has created a brand-new Jeep model that is akin to ones of the past.
Specifically, Jeep brand has created a 'throwback' model that serves as a nod to the earliest Jeep vehicles available to civilian drivers.
The new Jeep model, which has been dubbed the Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition, is based off the very popular Wrangler Sport yet features even more off-road Jeep parts to make its capability outside city, and even rural streets, unlike any other.
Some of the new off-road hardware the Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition sports, includes:
- a Dana 44 rear axle with Trac-Lok limited-slip rear differential and 3.73 gears
- new BF Goodrich KM Mud Terrain LT255 / 75R17 tires
- rock rails
- brand-new Jeep Trail Rated Kit with D-Ring, tow strap and Jeep-brand gloves plus bag
As for the model's design, the Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition features a grille painted in glossy black paint, a matching black Jeep badge, the same colored front and rear bumper appliques, '4 Wheel Drive' rear tailgate insignia, from the past, and Willys hood decals. The entire model sits on highly-capable 17-inch aluminum wheels in a higher gloss black color.
