If you're big on auto news, you probably read that December sales weren't quite what we and analysts anticipated they'd be due to harsh weather in some parts of the country. Fortunately, we don't get Mother's Nature's worst here in Red Buff, CA, and fortunately for Chrysler Group LLC, the weather didn't deter it from accomplishing a positive sales growth for the month and for all of 2013.

How exactly did Chrysler Group LLC fare? For December, Chrysler Group finished with 161,007 vehicles, a six percent sales gain over December 2012. As for the year, Chrysler Group completed 2013 successfully with a nine percent growth to show for it.

When we move into brand-specific accomplishments, we have to give it up for both the Jeep brand and the RAM Trucks brand. All brands contributed to the end-result, but these two brands showed the most improvement; RAM pickup truck sales completed the year with a 21 percent increase versus 2012, and the Jeep brand finished off the year with its best December sales ever, a 34 percent sales increase.

Within those brands, the Jeep Cherokee made its entrance into the auto world gracefully and with high sales numbers. It's only been available in showrooms for a couple of months, but in December it already showed a 48 percent sales growth over the previous month with 15,038 sales units. Among the more veteran Jeep brand vehicles, the Jeep Grand Cherokee finished with 16,517 units for December and 174,275 units for the year.

the RAM pickup flexed its potential by finishing off the year with 33,405 trucks sold for December (11 percent increase versus December 2012) and 355,673 (not including commercial vehicles) overall for 2013, a 22 percent increase over 2012.
