When you are considering the importance of making sure that your muffler and exhaust system are working as they should, the primary focus should rest squarely on performance and safety. Performance equals a more enjoyable, efficient ride, while safety speaks for itself. A better understanding of how it actually works will highlight the benefits of muffler and exhaust system maintenance.

The exhaust manifolds gather the gases produced by engine function, then moves through the o2 sensor to be analyzed and then to the catalytic converter where it is processed.

he decision between a front-wheel-drive (FWD) and a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) will depend on what you expect in a vehicle. There are benefits and limitations to each. Two of the biggest considerations are the number of miles you plan on driving and under what conditions.

A RWD vehicle provides a durable suspension. Hitting a curb in one of these vehicles doesn’t phase it. RWDs are also known for better performance and handling.

Eventually, your engine's drive and timing belts will crack apart. No engineer has ever been able to make a belt that lasts forever. Coolant hoses have the same problem too. Eventually, they'll dry out and crack apart, which makes it important to get a regular inspect in order to ensure that you never have to suffer a roadside breakdown.

The next time you crank up your car before heading off to work, think about the last time you had your vehicle’s alternator looked at.

Without a properly functioning alternator, a vehicle will be unable to start as normal. Although the battery may retain enough power to turn on a car, it is completely reliant on the alternator for sustained replenishment of power when the car is in motion.

No matter what type of spare tire you have in your car, you need to make sure that it is in good condition for when you need it. Since both of types of spare tires are not used often, sometimes their care is neglected, and they aren't useful when the time comes.

There are many drivers who have no idea what to do behind the wheel when they approach roadside workers, and as a result according to the National Traffic Incident Management Coalition, 200 of those workers will lose their lives this year. The reason for the huge number of fatalities can be pinpointed to a poll that was conducted by Mason Dixon Polling & Research.

Remember the days when your local car dealership and owner's manual said it was necessary to change your oil every 3,000 miles? This is no longer true for cars built in recent years. You may be able to go 7,500 to 10,000 miles between oil changes because oil chemistry has improved (synthetic oils are used more) and engine technology is more advanced. It may be difficult to rid yourself of this thinking because old habits are hard to break. The following reasons may help you in knowing if your oil needs changed more often:

Taking your car in for routine maintenance is one of the most important things that you can do as a car owner. If you keep up with oil changes and other maintenance, you can help ensure that your car runs its best and reaches its full lifespan.

Even though you might know all of this, you might still find it difficult to set aside the time to keep up with your car's necessary maintenance. Luckily, here at Red Bluff Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, we have taken steps to make it even easier for you.
